Zines for different subjects
Here you can explore a selection of zines I've created, each crafted with a unique blend of visual design and storytelling. These zines represent a personal exploration of themes ranging from everyday observations to more profound reflections on culture and identity, all presented through an engaging mix of graphics and text.

Zine 1: The Great Buddha Plus
The zine is inspired by the film 'The Great Buddha Plus.' This zine captures the essence of the movie, which discusses themes of money and societal underclasses. In the film, the world is depicted predominantly in black and white, emphasizing the stark realities of the lower social strata, while bursts of color emerge only when depicting the world of the wealthy. This artistic choice powerfully underscores the disparities between different social classes. The zine reflects this visual and thematic contrast, using a similar palette to provoke thought and highlight the societal commentary inherent in the film.

Zine 2: Under the Surface of Design
Under the Surface of Design delves into the practical applications of contemporary design in real-world contexts. It explores how modern design transcends traditional boundaries, influencing everything from user interfaces to public spaces. Recognizing the increasing tendency for people to seek quick, engaging content due to the constant stimuli provided by the internet, this zine is styled to resemble 'bathroom reading.' It's crafted to be digestible in short bursts, providing insightful, thought-provoking design discussions that can be enjoyed during brief moments of downtime.

Zine 3: Xiao Liu Ren
Xiao Liu Ren, an ancient Chinese divination method. Xiao Liu Ren uses numbers, time, and the position of the left hand to predict the outcome of events, offering insights into the potential success or failure of endeavors. This zine provides a deep dive into the intricate symbolism and methodologies of Xiao Liu Ren, aiming to make this complex system accessible and engaging to modern readers. It serves as both an educational tool and a visual exploration, bringing ancient wisdom to life through contemporary design aesthetics.
